EasyGuide GPS are established products that are already used by sightseeing operators and passenger transport operators in many cities worldwide.
Recently EasyGuide GPS has been selected for the Harry Potter Studio Tour shuttle buses in London where EasyGuide broadcasts videos triggered by GPS location of the vehicle.
Also new in 2014 is the ABBA museum boat tour which uses EasyGuide to provide multi-language commentary.
And recently EasyGuide was installed on commuter boats operating in a Norwegian archipelago. EasyGuide broadcasts safety and next stop announcements together with geographic maps in the passenger compartment showing the current location of the boat they are travelling on.
Installation of audio visual systems on buses is of great benefit to blind and partially-sighted people who are otherwise very dependent on others which makes them very vulnerable.
Through their Talking Buses campaign Guide Dogs UK is campaigning for a change in the law to make audio and visual information – including audible announcements of the current stop, next stop and final destination – available on board bus and coach services across the UK. They say currently blind and partially-sighted people have to be on constant alert when using buses, to make sure they get to their desired destination. It would also help tourists and newcomers to an area and improve the experience in general for all passengers.
